Are your alternators and starters new?
Yes, all of our parts are 100% new replacement parts (NOT OEM). Our parts are made to the same exact standards as original replacement parts. They are put through a battery of tests that ensure you get a quality part.
Do your parts come with a warranty?
Yes! We offer a ONE year warranty on our parts. You have the option to have a replacement part sent or a credit applied to your card.
What if I ordered the wrong part?
If you realize your ordered part is the wrong one, it can be returned as long as it is still in new condition and has not been tampered with. It must be re-saleable. Just call us for return information!
What is an alternator?
An alternator is a critical part of almost every engine. The alternator supplies electrical power to all of the electrical components in a vehicle. In addition, the alternator also recharges the vehicle’s battery while the engine is running.
How does an alternator generate electricity?
Once the engine is started, an alternator is turned by a belt & pulley system attached to the crankshaft. The alternator generates electricity much like a simple generator does—through electromagnetism.
What is a starter?
A starter is a powerful electric motor that turns an engine’s crankshaft by engaging its flywheel in order to start it when it is engaged. When the starter is disengaged, it goes back into its normal position so that the flywheel & crankshaft may turn freely.
How is a starter engaged?
When the ignition on a vehicle is switched to “start”—usually by a key, the starter solenoid uses electricity from the battery to engage the flywheel and turn it. This requires a very large amount of electrical power and repeated starts can potentially drain the battery in cases with an unhealthy engine.
How do I know if my alternator is bad or is going bad?
The only surefire way to know if your alternator is bad is to have it tested. Most auto part stores now offer alternator & battery testing as a free service using a portable tester.
Are the pictures on your website an exact replica for what I will receive?
The pictures we have are what the original OEM part looks like. Most customers do not have part numbers to cross reference therefore this method of matching "picture for picture" will make sure they get the right part. However, do to new methods of making starters and alternators,the parts we send WILL interchange but may look different in size, shape, color, etc... What forms of payment do you accept?
American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. There is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases. Please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number (i.e. the address and phone number your credit card bank has on file for you). Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your credit card will be billed upon shipment of your order.
When is my order shipped?
Products ship the same day if ordered by 5:00PM EST , or by the next business day if your order is received after this time and for orders received on Saturday, Sunday or any major holiday. However, there may be times when the product you have ordered is out-of-stock which will delay fulfilling your order. We will keep you informed of any products that you have ordered that are out-of-stock and unavailable for immediate shipment. You may cancel your order at any time prior to shipping without any charge to your credit card.
How much is shipping and what are my options?
UPS Ground shipping is approximately $15 for the lower 48 US states. Shipping time is 2-4 days depending on location.
Do you ship Internationally? Yes! We trust USPS International Priority for all of our Worldwide shipping.Canadian shipping is sent via UPS Saver.Normal shipping for International addresses is 6-10 business days to allow for customs.
